PT TOMORROW: AL East—Mullins may make mark in 2H in BAL

As analyst Matt Dodge noted in Playing Time Today recently, Joey Rickard (OF, BAL) and Jace Peterson (OF, BAL). However, by now, we know what Rickard and Peterson are: a player at most best suited for the weak side of a platoon and a no-hit journeyman, respectively.

Thus, Rickard and Peterson are likely only keeping the position warm for a player that might be a bigger part of Baltimore’s rebuilding effort. That player is most likely to be Cedric Mullins (OF, BAL). Upon his promotion to AAA-Norfolk, Mullins went 2-for-24. Since then, he has gone 37-for-114 (.325).

Across Double-A and Triple-A, Mullins has posted a .301/.358/.501 line in 83 games. He has been successful on 15 of 16 stolen base attempts. A natural center...
