PT TOMORROW: AL East—Can Kiermaier keep it up?

Tampa Bay Rays

Kevin Kiermaier (OF, TAM) is making the most of the opportunity created by the injury to Wil Myers (OF, TAM). As much as Kiermaier has impressed with the bat, he has done as much if not more with the glove. Manager Joe Maddon has taken to calling Kiermaier the best defensive outfielder in the majors, despite his limited experience.

The high praise raises the prospect that the Rays could look for ways to keep Kiermaier in the lineup, even as Myers heals. At a minimum, the Rays will likely not rush Myers back, given that, even before the stress fracture in his wrist, he was doing little at the plate.

But where the Rays are currently sitting with the worst record in baseball, it is quite possible, too, that they could move...

Almost!
