AL Central: Cantillo an option to round out rotation

Cleveland Guardians

The top three spots in the rotation are pretty much set as spring training nears. Shane Bieber (RHP, CLE) is currently expected to miss about half of the upcoming season as he continues to work his way back from April Tommy John surgery, and he should slot in whenever he's deemed healthy. Let's take a look at some other candidates to round out the team's starting rotation.

Ben Lively (RHP, CLE) had some excellent surface numbers during the 1st half of 2024, but his 4.28 xERA and 8.7% SwK told a different story. Over his final 10 starts he registered a 4.73 ERA with an ugly 28/19 K/BB in 45.2 IP. Overall, Lively posted a 3.81 ERA, and he'll be in the mix for a spot, but don't expect another sub-4.00 ERA.
