Jake Rogers (C, DET) missed all of 2022 after undergoing Tommy John surgery in September of 2021. He is healthy now and expected to serve as the backup catcher, and he's making a statement this spring with 3 HR and a double among his five hits in his first 12 at-bats.
Rogers is mostly known for his defense and sports a 57% ct% across his first 255 MLB PA. He does have a little pop in the bat, as evidenced by his 6 HR and 175/133 PX/xPX combo in 127 PA the last time we saw him in 2021. The level of success he's had this spring is certainly unsustainable, but if Rogers continues to hold his own, he should lock down the second catcher role.
Eric Haase (C, DET) will be the starter behind the plate and is a decent second...
