Bailey Ober (RHP, MIN) has shown he can be a capable big-league starter, recording a 3.82 ERA and 19% K-BB% in 31 starts over the past two seasons. But since the arrival of Pablo López (RHP, MIN) he has been sitting 6th on the depth chart all off-season, and it looked like it would take an injury to open up a rotation spot for him.
In such a scenario, it probably wouldn't take all that long for him to get an opportunity, considering the health track record of a few guys ahead of him. This includes the aforementioned López, as well as Kenta Maeda (RHP, MIN), who is coming back from Tommy John surgery, and Tyler Mahle (RHP, MIN), who battled shoulder injuries throughout last year.
