We began our spring training PT TOMORROW columns with one question per team. This week, we revisit the topics raised with Opening Day upon us.

Can the Braves overcome their extended injury curse and find adequate replacements this spring?

Answer: Still cursed (but with an *)

Since we asked that question, a number of players have moved forward with corrective surgeries to (then) known injuries, with some expected back later this season (Spencer Schwellenbach, bone spurs in right elbow), and some not (Joey Wentz, torn ACL in right knee). What Hurston Waldrep reported at the time as elbow soreness turned out to be caused by loose bodies; he too underwent surgery to remove them and is expected back at some point in 2026.
