NL Central: Chase Burns, your rotation spot is ready

Cincinnati Reds 

The Reds started their season winning a series against the Red Sox before dropping a series against the Pirates. They also started their season testing their pitching depth with starter Nick Lodolo landing on the 15-day IL with a blister. That moved both Chase Burns and Brandon Williamson into the rotation for one start each thus far, creating a sort of extended audition of who could possibly seize a spot over the longer term when Lodolo rejoins the rotation.

Burns was outstanding his first time through the rotation with five one-hit shutout innings against the Pirates. He struck out seven, and while the three walks raise some longer-term concerns, the results were a statement. The start built on a strong spring training...
