AL West: Platoon behind the plate in Texas

In recent seasons, Jonah Heim has been the standard behind the plate for the Rangers. Over the last three years, Heim has played 127, 131, and 131 games as their primary backstop. After a serviceable 2022, Heim broke out in 2023, hitting .258 with 18 home runs and 95 RBI. That breakout may be a one-hit wonder, as in 2024 Heim reverted back to his 2022 ways, hitting .220 with 13 home runs and 59 RBI.

Looking deeper, his barrel rate dropped from 8% in 2023 to 5.9% in 2024 and his hard-hit rate dropped from 38.5% to 36.4%. More importantly, his success versus RHP reverted back to 2022 as well.
