With Denzel Clarke heading to the IL for at least two weeks (likely longer) with a Grade 2 adductor strain, the A’s will have to make some changes to the outfield. In the first game without Clarke, the A’s moved Lawrence Butler to CF, which was the logical move, but that leaves questions in RF.
Miguel Andujar started the first game without Clarke in RF. Andujar has played the outfield and 3B this season, but may not be the long-term option. He’s hitting .285 on the season with three home runs, 19 runs scored, and 22 RBI. He’s not a major offensive force and should likely be left as a fourth outfielder option.
That leaves a few options in Triple-A. The A’s could go back to JJ Bleday, who is hitting .364 with four...
