AL East: Is Holliday assured a regular role?

A year ago, Jackson Holliday was the top-ranked prospect in the HQ100 and was entering camp with a seemingly real chance at making Baltimore’s Opening Day roster. However, Holliday’s 2024 season did not go as planned in several regards, as he failed to make the team coming out of spring and struggled (.190/.255/.310 in 208 PA) in the major league opportunities he received. Holliday’s season then ended where it began—from the sidelines. After the IL activation of Jordan Westburg, Holliday started just one of Baltimore’s last nine games. Then, he failed to record a plate appearance during Baltimore’s brief playoff appearance, a two-game sweep at the hands of Kansas City in the Wild Card round.
