Offseason acquisition José Caballero has been receiving near-everyday at-bats this season as Tampa Bay’s primary shortstop. While Caballero has provided immense value to his fantasy managers, largely due to his AL-leading 20 SB, his hitting ability has left much to be desired (.253/.309/.348). Caballero’s offensive struggles were even more apparent during May (.247/.333/.299), when he notably showed an alarming lack of contact ability (58 ct%). While Caballero’s playing time has remained relatively steady despite his struggles, a continuation of these trends could end up necessitating a change.
