Carlos Carrasco (RHP, CLE) cracked the Opening Day rotation and was mediocre in his first start, when he allowed 3 ER in 5 IP against Oakland. His average fastball velocity was down nearly two full ticks from last year, which leaves little reason to buy into a bounce back season.
Should Carrasco need an immediate replacement, Tyler Beede (RHP, CLE) may be next in line. He hasn't had much success as a big leaguer, as shown by his 5.26 ERA in 60 career appearances (29 starts). Beede recorded a 4.08 ERA and 6.1 K/9 in Japan last season but has been strong out of the gate this year, with a 6/1 K/BB in four hitless innings out of the pen to start the season.
