NEWS: The Yankees acquired OF/2B Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the Miami Marlins for AAA catcher Agustin Ramirez, High-A infielder Jared Serna and rookie ball infielder/outfielder Abrahan Ramirez.
IMPACT: High
BHQ SPIN: Beginning in 2025, the Yankees may well view Chisholm as their heir apparent to free-agent-to-be Gleyber Torres, though in the near term, his primary position is somewhat “to be determined.” Were DH Giancarlo Stanton not due back on July 29, there’d be some playing time available in center field, as Chisholm would be a clear upgrade over OF Trent Grisham. Over his last 29 games, OF Alex Verdugo has done little at the plate (.159/.220/.230, 1 HR in 124 PA), so he is a potential playing time...
