NEWS: Chicago announced that RHP Marcus Stroman will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a cartilage fracture in his right rib.

BHQ SPIN: Stroman was believed to be targeting a return to Chicago’s rotation this week after being sidelined for right hip inflammation. However, he suffered a setback and is now out indefinitely after an MRI revealed a cartilage fracture in his right rib stemming from discomfort that he felt during a bullpen session on Saturday. Mgr David Ross stated that the team is heavily leaning towards having Drew Smyly, who was moved to the bullpen last week, rejoin the rotation to replace Stroman in the interim.
