NEWS: RHP Ben Lively was placed on IL with a right pectoral strain.

BHQ SPIN: Lively (-2%) immediately hits the IL after getting lit up by the Cubs (4 IP, 13 ER, 4 HR), and he has struggled over the past month as well (25 IP, 7.20 ERA, 1.52 WHIP). There’s no word yet on where the Reds will turn to fill his spot; RHP Hunter Greene threw two innings in an Arizona Complex League game and has an estimated return of August 20, and LHP Nick Lodolo could return a couple of weeks after that. We could see a spot start or two from minor league reinforcements RHP Levi Stoudt and/or RHP Brett Kennedy - who have both made appearances this season.
