Ross injury, Profar promotion usher in Rangers’ September
A sore elbow has put Robbie Ross (LHP, TEX) on the DL, one of several moves that give the Rangers some roster flexibility as they eye October baseball. The Ross move allowed Tanner Scheppers (RHP, TEX) to be promoted from Triple-A immediately, otherwise he would have had to wait for the 10 days from his August 26 demotion to be recalled. The Rangers also promoted and DL’d minor-league reliever Tyler Tufts to accommodate the arrival of uber-prospect Jurickson Profar (SS, TEX) and pave the way for his addition to the post-season roster.
