NEWS: OF Josh Lowe was placed on the 10-day injured list, retroactive to May 23.

BHQ SPIN: For a second time this season, Lowe had strained his right oblique May 22, but he and the team had resisted the IL stint for as long as possible. After missing the first 35 games of the season, Lowe and the team are hoping the forced rest will allow him to put the issue to rest for good. While the Rays have other options, the immediate benefit of Lowe’s absence has fallen to Jonny DeLuca, who has gotten consecutive starts in right field against right-handed pitching. Richie Palacios is also helped by having a corner outfield spot available, while Jose Siri by default is the team’s primary...
