Woodruff is top Wednesday choice versus Angels
Sep 17 2025
Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: We have a full slate of games, starting with the Cubs and Pirates at 12:35 pmEST. We have had some great weather over the last few days, and hopefully that continues again today. We have a lot of good pitchers throwing today, leading only a few games with totals of nine runs or more.
Notable Starts:
Brandon Woodruff bounced back in a big way in his last start, throwing six shutout innings with two hits, no walks, and eight strikeouts versus the Pirates. In his previous three starts, Woodruff allowed 13 earned runs over 14.1 innings pitched for an 8.16 ERA and 4.09 SIERA to go with a 15.3% K-BB. He’ll look for another strong start as he takes on an Angels team hitting .195 over the past month...
