Skubal earns top mark for busy Tuesday slate

Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: Tuesday brings a full-slate offering, a good-weather day, and a thick-in-the-middle bell curve on the Match-up Ratings. Tarik Skubal and Michael King are a couple hurlers toeing the slab at home against second-division offenses, and they are ranked 1-2 on the Ratings chart.

 

Notable Starts:

Tarik Skubal is taking on a Seattle Mariners offense that owns a .664 OPS, with a 26% K rate, against southpaws. Skubal has been inducing a lot of manageable contact of late. That includes a seven-frame PQS-4 against SEA in his last start. Current SEA bats own an aggregate .623 OPS against him, and he gets this start at Comerica Park where he's posted a 2.48 ERA, 0.96 WHIP since 2022.
