Lopez tabbed on top of a short-slate Thursday

Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: Thursday is a light day on the schedule with just 10 teams  in action. Two of those clubs, the Detroit Tigers and New York Mets, are ticketed for two games at Citi Field. But there is a significant chance of rain in the New York area. Those games and the PIT-at-WAS contest are most in jeopardy.

Notable Starts:

Pablo López was sharp in his season debut, fanning seven (without a walk) and getting 15 swinging strikes in 7 IP. The 28-year-old has held opposing batters under a .670 OPS each of the last three Aprils. Lopez makes this start on six days’ rest; over his career on such rest (six-plus days), he has registered a 3.18 ERA and 4.7 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

Lance Lynn pitched four shutout frames...
