DAILY MATCHUPS: Wheeler looks to tame the Tigers on Wednesday
Jun 7 2023
Today's Overview/Schedule/Weather: We have 15 games on tap today, starting with the A’s and Pirates at 12:35 pmEST. There are slight rain chances throughout the slate, mainly on the East Coast and in Coors. Pitching is not great today, as reflected by three-quarters of the game totals of nine runs or higher.
Notable Starts:
Zack Wheeler is coming off his worst start of the season, where he allowed seven runs over 3.2 innings, and that was after eight shutout innings while striking out 12. Wheeler will look to rebound versus the Tigers, who are striking out 24.6% of the time versus RHP over the last three weeks while hitting .202 with a .125 ISO. Wheeler has the highest overall rating of 2.1 with a 2.6 strikeout rating.
