Jacob deGrom leads the way in three categories—strikeouts, ERA, and WHIP. In three starts, he’s maxed out at 20 batters faced. Don’t expect more than a tiny expansion of that workload. In 16.2 innings, he’s allowed just six hits, a walk, and three runs compared to 28 strikeouts. He doesn’t yet seem to have feel for his usually plus changeup. For now, he’s a fastball-slider guy.
