What is the next step in fantasy sports? What will be the next big leap forward? We are in an age with an ever-increasing panoply of statistics. The universe of projections gets better every year, and the idea of using hard science to play fantasy baseball is not only accepted but gains traction with every passing day.
But this brings ills as well as gains. It is harder to separate yourself from the crowd. It is harder to gain edges in information that, only a few years ago, were easily exploited. Competition gets better and the gap between the best and worst fantasy owners gets smaller. This magnifies the role of randomness and luck.
