CHASING THE 2014 NFBC: Looking back to look ahead

With the All Star break now in our rear view mirror, it's time for our annual mid-season look back at our optimistic beginnings, what went right, what went wrong, and what we have to do looking forward to help make those once optimistic hopes a reality.

The Draft

1. Adam Jones (YTD Stats .294 BA, 58 RBI, 19 HR, 64 RBI, 6 SB):  While Jones hasn't made the hoped for leap into "statistical" superstardom, he's at a minimum given us what we expected.  Playing every day, putting up stats across the board every day, he was drafted as a solid, safe first round choice, and turned out to be just that.

2. Edwin Encarnación (.277, 57, 26, 70, 2):  An abysmal April and an injured July sandwiched a ridiculous month and a half of extreme fantasy...
