KEEPERS: To Keep or Not to Keep—NL hitters 35-and-over

Now that 2012's regular season is in our rearview mirror, we continue our over-35 keeper series with a look at NL hitters heading into 2013.  Particularly for owners in leagues that play year-round, one of the first items on the winter agenda is to figure out which aging veterans are either worth keeping or trading for—and which are best moved out for younger blood.

Obviously apart from winning, the objective of any keeper/dynasty owner is to construct as durable, risk-free and upside-worthy roster as possible—and over-35s rarely fit the bill.  But for teams that have managed to minimize risk elsewhere, sometimes these players are worth a flyer in patching a short-term weakness while enhancing immediate competitiveness. ...
