Introduction
In 2009 we introduced the concept of grading the respective skills of hitters and pitchers on a curve. The premise is that certain skill statistics and counting statistics are individually graded using the average and standard deviation for each category. Within each category, grades of 4.0 to 0.0 (similar to an A-F range) are assigned based upon the standard deviations, and the aggregate of the individual categories are used to assign relative values for Head-to-Head (H2H) 5x5 leagues. The sum of the categories is multiplied by 20 (for hitters) and 25 (for pitchers) to create a 0-100 scale.
