Recently, the following question was asked by an BaseballHQ.com subscriber:
“Do you use the SGP data to come up with the challenge indicators?”
This simple question led to a short debate, and possibly to a new statistic called “Projected Salary” for the rotisserie-style salary cap games. Projected Salary would use the Challenge Category Points (CCP) system to determine a player’s CDM or Fantrax salary based on his CCP value.
For example, if Miquel Cabrera (DET, 3B) projects to 36-128-111-3-.322 (HR-runs-RBI-SB-BA) and a corresponding 7.03 CCP value, is it possible to accurately project a salary-cap game salary. Cabrera currently costs $1.7 million in the Fantrax game, but based on his projected statistics, is it possible...
