ALTERNATIVE: 2019 Points League Draft Guide—Pitchers

Points leagues provide a simpler—but rewarding—format that focuses on counting stats rather than ratios. While many variations exist, we will focus on a format which awards fifteen points for a win, seven for a save, and one per strikeout. You can then use our Custom Draft Guide to customize for your own league’s scoring system.

When looking at starting pitchers, the normal focus of points leagues, we need ones who accumulate innings to maximize strikeouts and chances for wins. While wins remain elusive, we can look at pitchers who accumulate innings on projected winning teams to at least maximize our chances of obtaining them.

We can predict innings with more certainty and, using Dom and SwK, even more accurately forecast strikeouts....
