Continuing our look at points leagues, we turn our attention to hitters. (Pitchers can be found here.) In points leagues, we ignore the batting average category to focus on counting stats. Steals represent just another point, not a valuable resource in and of themselves. Points league rewards guys with extra-base power, not just home run hitters. Those bullets in the gap represent nice targets in a points league compared to Rotisserie, where they register only as hits. While many variations exist, for this exercise, we will assume one point for each run, RBI, stolen base, total base, and walk.
The Runs Above Replacement level in a 12-team league is around 385 points; for fifteen teams, around 370. You then want to look at the difference...
