In preparing for our annual Points Leagues draft guide, we found a startling revelation: outside of catcher, outfielders represent the scarcest batting position in five-outfielder leagues. It seems the power explosion of 2017 resulted more from infielders while the increased emphasis on defensive outfield speed has kept outfielder power numbers normalized.
We will assume a 12-team mixed league and focus on the basic scoring system for our analysis: a point for each total base, run scored, RBI, walk and stolen base.
