ALTERNATIVE: 2018 Points league draft guide—Pitchers

When analyzing pitchers in Points Leagues, the high value of wins makes predictions difficult. We know that pitchers obtain or lose wins due many times to external factors beyond their control (runs scored, bullpen performance, etc.). But they remain a staple in points leagues with the highest value per event. (We will assume 15 points, a typical value, in this analysis.) So we must remain cognizant of wins by looking at team value and ability to pitch deeper into games to increase the likelihood for the pitcher to gain a win.

The sheer force of the win means any pitcher within say, 30 points of another is really within the margin of error of two wins. But project we must, and with so many pitchers grouped so tightly, we still must...
