ALTERNATIVE: 2015 Hitting tiers in Points leagues

In points leagues, total bases overtake ratios in evaluating hitter targets. You must take players who rack up counting stats, especially homers. To find hidden targets, look for those who crank out frequent doubles.  These count twice as much as singles and often indicate latent power breakouts.

For this article, we use a simple formula of a point for each total base, walk, run, RBI, and stolen base. Some points leagues have additional categories and negative values.  You can use our Custom Draft Guide to plug in your league’s values.  Here are some targets and risks at each position.
