WATCHLIST: Rondon, Gilmartin lead potential stretch contributors

The WatchList column is a quick-hit, twice-a-week look at those minor-league players that due to an organizational opening or continued improvement are on the verge of a callup. Many of the players covered in WatchList will not be top-level prospects, but instead players that could hold some short-term fanalytic value in the right situation.
Bruce Rondon (RHP, DET)
Rondon has taken a huge step forward this season, making him a player to keep an eye on as the calendar turns and September call-ups get a taste of the bigs. Rondon is a two pitch guy with a plus plus FB up to 98 and a wipeout SL. He is more of a thrower rather than a commander and due to his mechanics he has had issues with his Ctl and Cmd.
