STARTERS: SP to track in the spring

With spring training upon us, let's take a closer look at some starting pitchers that are worth following in the spring due to the strong skills they flashed at times in 2020.

Here are five SP in each league that bear watching during the spring.
 

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Aaron Civale (RHP, CLE) is being drafted as a mid-rotation arm (187 ADP), but he carries some good profit potential if you get him at that value. His skills jumped quite a bit in 2020 (118 BPV), as he pounded the strike zone and watched his swinging strike rate go from 9.0% in 2019 to 10.6% in 2020. Civale has a good shot at posting a sub-4.00 ERA in 2021.

Frankie Montas (RHP, OAK) bears watching this spring. He was awful on the surface in 2020 (5.60 ERA, 1.51 WHIP). His skills...
