With nearly two months of data for us to analyze, let's take a look at the starting pitchers whose overall skills as measured by BPV have increased the most from 2022 to 2023.

These SP (min 30+ IP in 2022 and 2023) have posted a double-digit increase in their BPV from last year to this season:

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Brayan Bello (RHP, BOS) still doesn't have good overall surface stats (4.08 ERA, 1.44 WHIP), but they have improved significantly in May (2.74 ERA, 1.22 WHIP) behind another strong month of skills (121 BPV in April, 125 BPV in May). This season has been a step forward for Bello, even if the data sample is small.
