Let's begin our monthly look back at the starting pitchers who have posted the best skills in the prior month.

First, let's set some baselines. Here were the aggregate stats and skills posted by starting pitchers in April 2022, segregated by league:

It's not surprising that ERA and WHIP seemingly have soared in the NL due to starters now having to adjust to facing a DH rather than a pitcher.

Interestingly, the 4.02 ERA of SP from the NL in April 2022 was lower than the ERA they posted during the prior four months of 2021:
