With another "Year of the Pitcher" behind us, opposing owners now draft starting pitchers earlier than ever. While this hinders our ability to find bargains, remember that we can choose to not follow suit. The 30th-best starter proportionally still represents the 30th-best starter, just one with improved statistics. Others will max out their roster of pitchers more quickly or desperately recognize their moribund offense mid-draft and start rostering hitters while you pluck the remaining pitchers off the board. All the while, your roster will represent significantly less risk.

Remember that while last year's champion may have had some great starters, but more bottom division foes...
