Setup and context: Second of a four-game weekend set between these division rivals. The Nationals famously started slowly in 2019, but by this point had rebounded from their 19-31 start to go 32-13 since. In winning the series opener the previous night, they had climbed to within 5.5 games of the division-leading Braves.
