RE-WATCH 2019: San Francisco Giants at Boston Red Sox, September 18

Pitching matchup: RHP Jeff Samardzija (10-12, 3.72 ERA) vs. RHP Jhoulys Chacin (3-10, 5.44 ERA)
Setup and context: Middle game of a three-game set; both squads out of the playoff race and some player auditions were for 2020 were taking place. This was also the night Red Sox legend Carl Yazstremski threw out the first pitch to his grandson Mike. And as we note below, there were plenty of additional factors to consider as this game got underway. Though the Giants got out to an early 3-0 lead in the first, the Red Sox got within 4-2 before the Giants blew it open late and won going away, 11-3
