F/F SPOTLIGHT: Trevor Bauer

Trevor Bauer (RHP, CLE) was selected third overall in the 2011 MLB amateur draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks, following a three-year stint at UCLA. He wasted no time reaching the majors, making his MLB debut with the Diamondbacks on June 28, 2012. His rapid ascent through the minor leagues came as no surprise, particularly given the 9B rating in our 2012 Diamondbacks Organization Report and 14th overall rank in the 2012 edition of the HQ100. However, his first taste of MLB action didn’t go as hoped, as the poor control he displayed throughout the minors (4.2 Ctl in 156 IP) finally came home to roost.
