F/F SPOTLIGHT: Sean Manaea

All 2018 statistics are through the All-Star break.

Sean Manaea (LHP, OAK) is having a breakout season of sorts in his third year as a major-league starter, including a no-hitter against the potent Red Sox lineup in April. His 3.42 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, and 12 Wins have been good for $20 in AL-only value, and he's outperformed his ADP by more than five rounds. So let's dig in see if he can sustain (or even improve on) his success.

The backstory

Manaea was predicted to be a breakout candidate in 2017, based on his 2016 skills. He did not deliver, posting a 4.37 ERA. At season's end, we discovered that the medication he had been taking for ADD had cause weight loss, and he blamed that weight loss for his poor performance in the second half...
