F/F SPOTLIGHT: Marcus Semien

Marcus Semien (SS, OAK) entered the 2016 season as someone people were targeting in the middle rounds of many drafts after he enjoyed a mini-breakout in 2015. Indeed, his 236 ADP in 2016 drafts was a reflection that most owners did not view him as a budding cornerstone SS.

The reasons for this are pretty clear. One, Semien has never hit more than 15 HR at any professional stop. He also had 35 errors in the infield in 2015, which made many people cautious about his ability to remain a full-time part of the OAK lineup. And he was never a top prospect, so his ceiling was hard to determine.

This season might be considered a mixed bag for those looking at making Semien an integral part of their infield. After all, only nine SS with 150+ AB...
