F/F SPOTLIGHT: Jeff Samardzija

2015 was supposed to be a big year for Jeff Samardzija (RHP, CHW). He was traded to the Chicago White Sox during the 2014 Winter Meetings as the White Sox tried to position themselves as contenders in the American League Central. The free-agent-to-be was coming off a 7-13 season that did not reflect his outstanding skills. His 2.99 ERA was backed up by a 3.05 xERA, a strong 8.3 Dom, and a career-best 129 BPV.

His 2015 Baseball Forecaster write-up painted a very positive picture for his in-season fortunes:

Rebounded from "poor" 2013 and then some. Confirmed morph from FBer to GBer as Ctl turned elite. BPV and xERA trends keep on keepin' on. Gopheritis hurts and he could use some run support. But with that support, more Ctl preeminence...

Almost!
