F/F SPOTLIGHT: Jake Lamb

A common phrase you'll hear around these parts in April and May is "exercise excruciating patience"; typically within the context of waiting out early-season struggles. But this motto can also be applied elsewhere—most notably with young prospects.

Long-time Baseball Forecaster readers are well aware of the "A-Rod 10-Step Path to Stardom," which highlights the alternative path young prospects often take when first called up to the majors. There's also considerable risk involved, which our own Chris Blessing recently detailed in a highly recommended piece. Simply put, Major League Baseball is hard, and expecting early success at the MLB level should be the exception; not the rule. They're not all Mike Trout.
