New team, better results for Semien... When we last checked in on Marcus Semien (SS, TOR) on February 22, Arik Florimonte deduced that Semien's career year in 2019 was a clear outlier based on prior performance as well as his results from 2020. The comment from the 2021 Baseball Forecaster also acknowledged that 2019 could potentially be the high water mark for Semien. However, erratic circumstances (including injury) paired with short spurts of success and a strong xPX gave the conclusion that a modest bounceback looked like a decent bet. 211 PA through the 2021 season, Semien has delivered even better value ($34) than he did in 2019 ($27) thus far.
