Some extreme early performances are worth speculating on, while others deserve a more pessimistic eye.
Let's take an early look at some of these outliers to help you identify which quick starts are more sustainable than others.
AMERICAN LEAGUE
J.P. Crawford (SS, SEA) isn't getting a lot of attention in leagues, but his very early skills (111 BPV) could change that soon. The former top prospect's plate discipline has been firmly elite: 20% BB%, 89% CT%, 2.33 Eye. He already has hit 11 balls with 95+ mph exit velocity; just ten batters have hit more. And his consistently good Spd has gotten even better (180 Spd). Crawford has the tools to be a valuable BA/SB source and has rekindled his profile in keeper leagues.
