BATTERS: Early 2023 targets

Our last Batters Buyers Guide column of the regular season will help you identify some early 2023 targets.

Here are a bunch of guys with major league experience in each league who could be in store for even better returns in 2023.
 

AMERICAN LEAGUE

Gunnar Henderson (3B, BAL) won't sneak up on owners in 2023 drafts, since he's one of the best prospects in the game and has looked the part since being recalled (.345 BA, .973 OPS in 58 AB). Just note that his high rate of groundballs isn't conducive to him reaching his 30+ HR upside (54/17/28 G/L/F), so he'll need to tweak his launch angle to have sustained success in 2023.
