As we did in 2021 around this time, this week we are looking at a few of the pitchers who are most likely to be traded by the MLB trade deadline on August 2. This year are looking at one actual ace (R.I.P. Kyle Gibson as an All-Star) and one backend starter who have made major adjustments in order to bounce back from rough 2021 seasons.

Castillo Mixes Up Hitters

Luis Castillo (RHP, CIN) is one of the top trade candidates in baseball right now as one of the few pitchers with ace level stuff that may be made available at the deadline. After a rough 2021 season that saw him post his worst ERA, xERA, and K% since 2018, at 3.98, 3.63, and 23.9% respectively, Castillo has bounced back so far in 2022 with what would be his best ERA of his career...
