Inching toward fall with bowling balls

This week in the Arsenal Report we feature two sinker-ballers, one of whom is trying to establish himself as a middle-of-the-rotation hurler and another trying to ascend to ace territory. This has been a resurgent year for the sinker, with the average team-use of sinkers up from 14.8% in 2021 to 15.2% in 2022 according to FanGraphs. We have previously covered pitchers such as Jakob Junis (RHP, SFG) and Chad Kuhl (RHP, COL) who have improved their results by throwing more four-seamers over sinkers, but this week our two featured pitchers use their sinkers prominently.
