MINORS: Thrive or Dive—Opening Day

The Thrive or Dive series is something new for Opening Day! I’ll look at several rookies breaking camp that are projected for significant roles and determine whether they will Thrive (meet or exceed their projected value) or Dive (not meet their projected value) this season.

Robles enters the 2019 season as the Nationals Opening Day CF. While our projection system believes he is a $24 player this season, there is one big concern: lineup placement. Nationals Manager Dave Martinez has the RHH Robles batting 9th in his Opening Day lineup. Given leadoff hitter Adam Eaton’s recent injury history and the ability Robles has shown in two September stints...
